We’re thrilled to announce a handful of upcoming events in Knightstown that you won’t want to miss. We may be a small town but we know how to have a good time and our events are fun for the whole family, so bring Grandma, bring your besties, and bring the kiddoes!
Jubilee Days
Market you calendar for August 17, 18, and 19 as we look forward to celebrating Knightstown’s Jubilee Days in downtown Knightstown. This is one of our favorite events in Knightstown. Some storefronts will be open, as well as vendor booths that will be selling crafts, trinkets, and other fun items to browse. You’ll also find food trucks selling delicious summer treats, amusement rides, live entertainment, and other activities at the Town Square.
Markers Market
This is less of an event in Knightstown and more of an experience, but we will be kicking off the opening of the Knightstown Makers Market soon. Details will follow for a projected launch date later this month. Beyond the grand opening, you’ll be able to regularly browse and shop the Knightstown Makers Market.
What is it? The Knightstown Makers Market is a collection of five tiny cottages that will house some incredible vendors. They’ll showcase their talents and sell their wares out of these cottages. You can follow them on Facebook for sneak peeks of their unique products. If you drive by the Southwest corner of Main St. and Jefferson, you’ll see the cottages as they undergo final construction.
Fall Festival
Get ready for the official kick-off to the Fall season with the Knightstown Fall Festival. Join us on September 23, 2023, 10:00 to 5:00, in our Town Square. This family-friendly event features local artisans, crafters, bakers, and fun things for people of all ages to enjoy. We’ll be ones dripping in pumpkin spice and trying to convince everyone that we can actually feel a cool, Fall breeze (regardless of actual ambient temperature…).
Christmas Tree Lighting
Join us on November 17th for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting in our town square. Santa arrives at at 5 PM and the lights come on at 7 PM. Our downtown retails stores will be kicking off their celebrations earlier in the day with Christmas Specials. Get started on your holiday shopping, enjoy some hot chocolate and cookies, and join our Ugly Sweater Contest. It’s the perfect event in Knightstown to make some family memories.
Christmas at the Academy
Throughout the month of December, Academy Place Apartments hosts “Christmas at the Academy.” You’ll see dozens of decorated trees that are sponsored by local businesses, schools, organizations, churches, and departments of government. Christmas at the Academy begins on November 30th and runs Thursdays and Fridays from 4-8 PM and Saturdays and Sundays from 12-8 PM. There are three floors of elegantly decorated trees, as well as activities and other festivities for visitors to enjoy.
Total Eclipse of Knightstown
We’re still in the planning phase of this event in Knightstown, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t have you save the date for our Total Solar Eclipse Party coming up on April 8, 2024. We’re not certain on entertainment and food details, but we know that it’ll be a once in a lifetime event for Hoosiers and you’ll find ample space for viewing – which makes this the perfect excuse to get out of the city and join us! We hope to have a link set up soon to purchase viewing glasses and t-shirts.
